Nestled in the hills of southeastern Ontario, on one hundred acres of rolling countryside, the studio welcomes you into a world of natural beauty, and is now offering workshops that will spark your creativity and help you learn new skills.

The studio is an extension of my home and workshop. Although I have worked in many traditional art and craft media--including sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, and pottery--I have come to appreciate the amazing versatility of polymer clay and cement. Each offers remarkable possibilities for artistic expression. I have 'done' art all my life and received a diploma in Fine Arts from St. Lawrence College, Kingston, Ontario in 1985.

               SUMMER WORKSHOPS AT BEEKS LANE STUDIO

Cement is much more than concrete blocks! In these workshops we explore both casting and modeling with cement, using various molds and armatures, as well as carving, mosaic and embedding for surface decoration.

Woodworking for Women is designed to help women learn to use power tools safely and skillfully. These shaker stools are a great first project, as making them develops several woodworking techniques. And it makes a great and functional take home piece to finish.

In these Book Arts workshops we explore various aspects of making books by hand, including making paper, sewing bindings, decorating covers and other elements that make handmade books special.

All workshops are from 10am to 4pm and include lunch. Fee includes all materials and supplies and the finished project. Accomodation is available locally at a lovely lakeside bed and breakfast.
